Sylvie Briand
Sylvie Briand is the director of Epidemic and Pandemic Preparedness and Prevention at the World Health Organization. With her team, she has been responding to the high-impact epidemics and pandemics of the 21st century, including Covid-19, severe acute respiratory syndrome, Ebola, influenza, plague, yellow fever, Zika virus, cholera, Chikungunya and Middle East respiratory syndrome, and supporting the 194 WHO member states to get better prepared to respond to pandemic threats.
