Joachim Breuer

Joachim Breuer was elected president of ISSA in 2016. He is also director-general of German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV). He began his career at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry and in 1990 joined the Federation of German Accident Insurance Institutions (HVBG). He became director-general of the Institution for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in the mining industry in1995. In 2002 he became director-general of the German Federation of Institutions for Accident Insurance and Prevention. Breuer also co-chairs the International Disability Management Standards Council.
